Knee Injurie (SOL18 31)

When I was in Mexico I wanted to see the house my dad built. I went by walking with my cousin Lipitor who was on bike. It took us about 10 minutes for us to get there. We went there and I got to see my dads house but it wasn’t finished. I wanted to try Lipitor’s bike so I hopped on, barely and tried going. I tried and I was moving but fel after like three seconds on hard rocks. My hands and knees were scraped and bleeding. I started to cry, the pain was unbearable. We went walking and Lipitor founded this piece of cotton to put on my knee. His dad coincidentally saw us and took us in his car. He had to throw something out first so we went to the biggest hole I had ever seen. It was the size like four Wrigley Field Stadiums and 3 stadiums deep. We drove off to our house where I got the biggest band aid ever. Coincidentally my brother injured his knee a s well but it was a lot worse. It looked like his inside we going to come out.

Baby Bunny (SOL18 30)

One day I was playing with my friends, Emma and Melany. We were playing “Yandere Simulator” in real life. We were playing until we divided to rest, and guess what I hear. “Pablo, vente!” It was my dad. I saw something in his hand and didn’t know what it was. I say wait her to my friends. As I start getting closer and closer, my eyes clear up and realize what it was. It was a bunny, not just any bunny, a bauy bunny! I start sprinting with excitement on my face. I go to it and ask “Can we keep it?” They said we can’t but I got to hold it. It was so small and soft, and cute. I started walking over to Emma and Melany letting them see it. He tried to escape but he failed. I went back home and set him free. He was walking as if he was a worm. That was the first baby bunny I ever got to hold.

Sneaky Snake (SOL18 29)

When I was playing with my neighbor, my brother went to the backyard and my brother said  "Serpents, A snake!!!” When I was there my neighbor and my brothers went up to my house. Both my little brothers were screaming, I don’t know why. My mom asked “What’s wrong?” My brothers than said “There’s a snake!” They screamed even more when they saw the snake go into my house. They begged my mom to get it and kill it. I know garden snakes don’t do anything so I was really confused. The baby of the family started crying worrying for my mom when she went in the house and didn’t come back for three minutes. My mom eventually caught it and set it free instead of killing it.

The Foul Falcon (SOL18 28)

One day when I was at my cousins house me and my brother went outside. We started playing with a ball because it was the only thing there, and some hide and seek. We kept playing until my brother touched something on the wires. He said “Dude lets go inside, there’s a falcon on the wires.” I said “No, those are crows.” There was 3 crows blocking my view from the falcon. I didn’t notice until it was going at us. “Ok let go inside, OMG!” It was so fast, it was coming towards us! We went inside and looked outside, I flew away. We were relieved.

Tremendous Treadmill (SOL18 27)

About 7 years ago I was outside playing with a ball. I saw that the garage was open. I saw a treadmill with the key so I wanted to try it out. It was going pretty good for my little feet and brain. That brain part was a contributing factor to what happened next. I put it on normal which was a good exercise at the time but my head thought “Oh let’s put it all the way up to XTREME!” I guess you know what happens next. I saw how fast it went and I put one foot down while grabbing onto the sensors on treadmill. I put two feet on and I flew. I went faster than the speed of light. My knees were hurting, covered in blood. My brother came is as I was crying. My dad saw me and asked what happened. I said “He turned it to extreme while I was running on normal and I flew.” I blamed it on my little brother. I went inside after my dad carried me and got fixed. I went to bed and started watching Peppa Pig with my older brother.

Leaving School (SOL18 26)

On the last day of 3rd grade for me, which was 4 months before it actually ends, I moved. My teacher Ms.Alvarado announced “This is the last day for Pablo here.” Everybody looked at me, I felt tingly and like a sharp of hungry in my stomach for a while. I thought to myself “Wait, I’m going to a new school where everything is strange and weird.”  I remember my best friend Fernando gave me a broken colored pencil for me to remember him by but I lost it. At the end of the day I was crying so I just asked my mom to buy me some corn. The corn was good so.

Fun Fair (SOL18 25)

Slmewhere between July Piper has a fun fair every year if they have enough money. When I went I first went to Emma house before we left to hang out with her to arrange some thing like, money and time. Once we left to go we’re were surprised to see it. There was so many things like spin the wheel, bean bag toss, a game where you try to make the frog go in a bucket, a pinball, and more. First we ate pizza but the bad thing is you only get one slice, they were square. When we finished eating we got our 200 tickets to play games, I remember playing this zodiac sign game, and I remember winning. There was this game were you compete again like 7 people and go around in a circle, there were circle pads on the floor were one person has to go on one. I went there on my first try and I won some cupcakes. The game was Cake Walk. Once we got all our tokens which was about 100 we turned them in for prizes. I got this orca necklace that I gave to Emma, some toy dinosaurs that grow in water, and some candy. Emma got a bee necklace, candy, and the expanding dinosaurs.

My First Communion (SOL18 24)

When I was in church school every Saturday, I didn’t like wasting my weekend on more school. One time I was late and she made me say hi to everybody, that were like 18 years old as to me, I was nine years old, you can clearly see the difference. Another time she was amazed with one piece of homework that didn’t have a name, and asked whose is it, once again I was too nervous so I raised my hand ever so slightly, she didn’t see it but other kids did. Ok so when I did my first communion we went to the church where we went up in front of everybody to get out “bread” and wine, I’m not sure, pretty sure it’s no wine though. Once I went up there I didn’t mess up and got to playing for 3 minutes non stop. I forgot who I chose to be my god father but I know his daughters name, Ashley. I went back to sit down and I got this mini wooden crib with a baby in it and a box with a necklace I later broke by accident.

Pizza Palace (SOL18 23)

After the Fifth Grade Farewell party my best friend Emma invited me and Alexa for pizza at Michaels Anthony. I had to ask my mom and she said yes because I said, “Please, Emma’s mom will bring me back.” Emma’s mom invited other people like my other best friend Melany. Once we got there, across the street there was so many buses, and I’m scared of busses all conjoined like that in one place because of this one video. I’m not sure if it’s fake or real but it said the person kidnapped kid and killed them in a place like that. Once we went in I rushed to get the perfect table. We ordered I think four large pizzas. They gave us our large pizza, and I got to admit I ate most of it. Before we got the pizza, Alexa made this drawing on the table because we could do that and I accidentally ruined it by dropping my water, it wasn’t a lot though. I got like five slices at the start, let me remind you that they were square so it was ok. We started eating, we kept trying to steal each other’s pizza, Melany almost choked after we “forced” her to eat it in one bit because she eats nibble, NIBBLES. When we were done we left and Emma mom took me home.

Fifth Grade Farewell Part (SOL18 22)

After Fifth Grade Farewell later in the day there was a party at Piper. My best friends Emma and Alexa attended, as well I. We went there to get our Piper banner as long as a photo. My teacher called me up and I went to get them. The co principal gave me my banner and photo and when I was walking down o told her, “I’m trying not to cry.” That day somebody actually said my last name right. Once I got them I sat back down. When it was over they turned up the lights and got the food out. I got cake which was surprisingly good and some Chewy bars. I remember taking my moms phone and taking a picture of us. My mom still has that picture.

Fifth Grade Farewell (SOL18 21)

On the last day of fifth grade in Piper Elementary they have what’s called Fifth Grade Farewell which I was in because I was a fifth grader. They do this to honor those students who have made it that far and to congratulate them for moving on. On the last day I remember my friend crying, well everybody. It was so sad, even though I was there for two years I missed the teachers and staff. I remember that Mercedes and Josy were best friends but when it was time to leave they were hugging. I don’t know why I did this but I smiled when I saw tears of sorrow but then like three seconds later I started to cry. When we started to leave the classroom I don’t get why everybody was lined up outside their classrooms just clapping. I didn’t like that but I get the jester. Once we went outside everybody was crying but my best friends face was red and that made me sad. My teacher Miss. French told her “When you grow up to be a soccer player, invite me.” That made her smile. Once my mom picked me up I was just “hiccuping” all the way home.

Remembering a Certain Restaurant (SOL18 20)

After Emma and I left the Shedd Aquarium my family, Emma and I went to a restaurant. It was right next to a the restaurant was small but successful. They gave us free tortilla chips and some salsa. I dared and convinced Emma, who was sitting right next to me to dip a tortilla chip in the tiniest bit of salsa. Keep in mind Emma is terrible handling hot things. She dipped it in and her mouth was burning! She had to drink half her water bottle she brought in. I ordered three tacos and Emma ordered two, we also ordered one some each, but we didn’t really like it. I also got a really good orchata.

Feeding My Brother (SOL18 19)

When I was I think in first grade after Easter my brother came home with a basket with paper streamers. He had some eggs in there that I took out. We started playing with the streamer but I was pretending it was spaghetti. I got two pencils acting like they were chopsticks. One “chopstick” on each hand. I started twirling them in the “spaghetti” and he opened him mouth. I was intending for it to go to his mouth once I lunged the pencils towards him. Biggest mistake ever. One of the pencils went in his mouth scraping like at least an inch of skin off of his top of his mouth. He started crying, and like any normal kid would do in a situation like this, hide. My mom found me after like 3 minutes and I got in serious trouble.

My Trip to Shedd Aquarium (SOL18 18)

One Sunday my best friend Emma and I went to the Shedd Aquarium. Once we got there there was a HUGE line because it was free admission that day. There we two babies crying so loud that it made Emma’s ears hurt. We got in and I felt terrible. There was two signs with one animal on each of them. One said “Donate to Ellie (Baby Otter) who was abandoning by her mother on a rock.” Another said “Donate to this sea lion.” I couldn’t donate, I was so sad. We saw so many types of fish and other animals it was amazing. We saw two of the biggest fish we had ever seen. After that Emma bought this huge dolphin that I name Finelophe. Finelophe was so fluffy and soft. Then we went to a touch pool and I touched this eel like creature, it felt nice though. Emma got Finelophe wet because she accidentally put her fin in the water. Emma took a lot of picture but I took a lot of videos. We got these copper coins but my brother Uriel was mad because he got a penguin instead of an otter like me and my other brother Braulio, Emma got a penguin as well. When we left Emma tweeted, “Got this new dolphin plush at the Shedd Aquarrium, her name is Finelophe.” Guess what, Shedd aquarium themselves replied. I don’t remember what they replied with though.

1st Grade Fiesta (SOL18 17)

On the last day of first grade we had a party. It was so much fun, my teacher let the students pick which music. I remember somebody asked for a chipmunks song. We had so much snacks and a lot of games. We played limbo and various games. I think I was the best at it. My best friend at the time, Isabella was playing with me. I remember asking her, “When’s the party?” She was so mad, everybody kept asking her that question. At the end of the day she gave us a little panflit with the whole class without 3 kids, I don’t remember if they weren’t there or they couldn’t take a picture. She had like 3 pictures of herself and my friend got it but gave it to me, I still have it and is still one of my favorite teachers.

Drawing “Disaster” (SOL18 16)

During kindergarten my teacher gave us an assignment we were supposed to complete. We had to write about a story and draw something on the top of the page she gave us. I finished after like 5 minutes and then I started walking around. I think the kid was autistic but I’m not judging. He was coloring so harshly outside the lines. He asked me “Am I doing good?” I said “Yes, good job.” A few minutes later the teacher saw and started screaming at him. I don’t understand why I did that or why the teacher didn’t give him a new paper.

Nerve Racking Raffle (SOL18 15)

Last week on Friday it was raffle day for the SOL Challenge. The moment I put in my “Admite One” ticket I chanted to myself, “I really want to win.” I wanted to win because Mrs. Haury described the prizes as fun and cool and said that there was food. I wanted to win mostly for the food. Once everybody put their tickets in I thought I had a pretty good chance considering I did all the SOL until that moment. Mrs. Haury reached in after shaking the box and pulled out a few names from other blocks until, I won! I stood up trying not to overly dramatic smile because I was the first name she had called. I went up and got chips and a notebook. I later switched out the chips for some candy instead. I won along with Emily, and Harvey. At the end Mrs. Haury took pictures of us with our prizes. My friend Andreia was jealous because she did all the SOL until that moment and had the same amount of chance she would win as me.

Police “Chase” (SOL 18 14)

One day I went to my grandma, I specifically remember it was 2009. I was bored and just slumped on the couch as I heard my brother and my cousins talk about going to the store. I thought that was my opportunity to go with them to get out of the house. Once I got up and said, “Can I go with you guys?” They said, “No.”  They then said “We can’t go then with him knowing.” I slumped on the couch once again, I fell asleep. I woke up in a panic looking around for my brother and cousins realizing they left me. I got my sweater and went to look for them. I went to the corner of the block right next to the one where my grandmas house is. I saw a gas station with a 7 Elleven. I started walking towards it, but guess what, a police cruiser happened to come along. I can’t imagine what a police cruiser was thinking when they saw a four - five year old walking around. The police had a Dalmatian. He was asking me questions until my brother and cousins saw me and took me home. I never got to buy anything.

4th Grade Mishap (SOL18 13)

When I was in fourth grade I went outside for recess. I was going to play four square as usual but none of my friends came. Only fifth graders who were so much taller than me. They told me their name and I told them mine. They had no idea how to play four square so I just went with it which was a mistake. I should have just lied and say “I need to go to the bathroom.” We were playing for a good 5 minutes until one of them hit the ball and it flew to my face. I almost started crying it hurt that bad. At the end of recess I just went inside to go to math class.

Tower of Terror (SOL18 12)

So when I was at Disney land my family and I were walking around doing nothing. My older brother saw a ride he wanted to go on, so I went with him. It was super tall. When we went there it was all slimey. Once we went on there was something like 30 people. We went up super fast while everybody was screaming. There was 3D effects like eyeballs getting bigger and bigger. I kept going up and down really really fast. It felt like and elevator that’s falling down the chute. The funny part is that once it stopped my brother who went with us started crying.

1st Grade Memories (SOL18 11)

So recently I found something I made in 1st grade. It was a little panflit with a class photo in the front and inside were some notes from students. My teacher gave everybody a note. I was so surprised to see it again, it’s been five years since I saw it. It even had my best friends phone number. When I saw it I said, “Huuuuuuuuuh!” “Yes, omg I have been looking for this for five years!” “Ah I’m so happy.” I was looking at everybody as kids, it was amazing, I forgot how everybody looked liked. I remember the last day of 1st grade, I went home and cried for like 2 hours.

Cola Explosion (SOL18 10)

When I was about six I went o the kitchen in my old house. I saw a 2 liter of Coca Cola on the counter and wanted some. I got it and my mom asked “Que estas haciendo con eso?” I didn’t answer. I started shaking the bottle while my mom was screaming at me not to do that. I stopped and she went back to cooking. I started shacking it immediately afterwards which made the bottle of Coca Cola explode. It was all over the kitchen and the food my mom just finished. I got sent to my room that day.

Terrible Taste Buds (SOL18 9)

When I was I think four I was in my old house in the kitchen. My mom was making something new, well nothing new just a combination of things. She gave me a tortilla with mole and rice. She put it in my mouth, I didn’t like the taste, it was horrid in my opinion. I’m not trying to be mean but left it in my mouth for like 30 minutes. She got sick of seeing that so she send me outside the apartment. I went inside after I almost vomited and threw the combination of eww in the trash. It wasn’t one of my proudest moments.

The Old Lady (SOL18 8)

So one time I went to my Grandmas house. I, for some reason went across the street. I went up to a random house and knocked. An old lady answered and guess what, I thought she was my grandma. I thought she was my grandma Amelia. We talked for an hour and had a really good time. I don’t remember the conversation but it was fun. I remember this one sentence, “Hi, your so small!” Once we were done talking I went back to my actual grandma and told her all about it.

Boom Ball (SOL18 7)

So this weekend I got a brand new ball. Those balls that you buy from Walmart for 3 dollars, rubbery and light. Well, that weekend I asked my Dad to park outside in the front of the house so I can play in the garage. I went inside with 2 brothers of mine to play 2 square. It was supposed to be like 4 square where there’s 4 squares and once the ball goes in your square, let it bounce you have to hit it to another square. Well mr brother left but my other brother joined in. We were playing for a good 3 minutes until, “Pop.” The ball “exploded.”  We were arguing about who’s fault it was. “You weren’t quick enough!” “He hit it hard!” One of the pipes managed to hit the ball, it wasn’t even sharp. My Dad told us “Not yet, there’s nails and pipes.” We said “OK.” So on the first day we got the ball, as well as the first ever game, played with the ball.

TV Shortage 2 (SOL18 6)

Remember when my brother broke the TV when he was like five years old well Uriel broke the TV again. So like 2 years later we were playing with our plushies but we were making them “strong.”  I think I remember my brother with his favorite plush “Rex” the dinosaur. He picked up a baseball bat. I don’t know why there was a baseball bat in our room, but he picked it up and BAM! He broke the TV once again. He was crying afterwards, hiding under the bed and closet. He kept saying “Hide me please!” “Don’t tell on me.” M6 parents found out like 1 minute later so he got grounded.

Favorite Quote (Not Challenge)

My favorite quote is from Walt Disney. “It’s kind of fun to do the impossible.” I like this quote because you working hard and having fun while trying to do the impossible. You know like staying awake all night, it’s possible but you think it’s impossible. I’ve stayed up all night a couple of times but once you do it you feel proud. There are a few other quotes but the one I chose is my favorite. And it’s by a person who I admire for his work.

Chicago History (Not Challenge)

You know about the Chicago Fire? It was one of the most terrible fires in Chicago history. It was from 1871, October 8 to October 10. Rumor has it that a cow started the fire when the cow knocked over a lantern and the whole city caught on fire. Some people jumped into the river, but the water was so polluted that it caught on fire. It killed 300 people and left 100,000 people without homes. It was 200 million dollars in damage. The fire stopped when it started raining in October 10.

TV Shortage (SOL18 5)

So around 2009 my brother and I were in the living room. We were a couple of little boys and weren’t strong, not at all. We were playing Gallina Siega which is just like Marco Polo without saying anything. The blind chicken is looking for you while their eyes are closed. For some reason he got a tennis racket which was too heavy for him. He was in front of the TV. He fell backwards at like the speed of light breaking the TV screen. That TV was mildly expensive (it was 1100 dollars). It was so loud for my little ears back then. He got in trouble and got grounded.

Cutie the Shoe Thief

Ok so one day in 5th grade my brother and I came back from school. We walked back home but we stayed outside to pet my dogs. After I pet my dog Snow I sat down on a bench just looking at Snow. We have another dog called Cutie was looking at my brothers feet. I knew something was about to go down but it was more tragic. So Cutie started sprinting to my brother Uriel. While Uriel was scared Cutie was circling him making him fall down. My dogs are bro and sis so Snow started doing it with Cutie because Snow does what Cutie  does. Once Cutie got Uriel’s shoe she has eating it. Uriel was screaming and crying help but I was just there trying to help but I was too scared. We got his shoe back at the end but it was all chewed up so we had to throw the pair away.

Kite kidnapper (SOL18 3)

Ok so in 2009 I was in a park with my dad, but I was flying a kite. Lucky me it was windy, too windy. I was enjoy flying my kite for the first time it actually worked. Later on there was a gust of wind so strong I was flying. The wind was carrying me away from my dad while he was jumping to catch my feet. I was scared of falling so I held on the kite. The wind got softer gradually making me landsafely. I was so lucky I didn’t get into the trees. I remember screaming so much but my dad got me in the end and we went home after that.

Classroom Switcharoo (SOL18 2)

So on the first day of me going to Emerson Elementary School I went to the “right” classroom or so I thought.  Apparently I went to a first grade class thinking “Oh cool, I’m the tallest one!” There was this girl who was also there for her fist day as well. Through the whole day I was doing first grade thing like counting when I was supposed to be multiplying. After music class my actual classroom looked at me, every single one of them. I didn’t understand what was happening. My actual teacher said you my student.” So I went to the right classroom and went to music again.

“Perfect” Paint (SOL18 1)

Ok so one time in kindergarten (this story is embarrassing) I was very obedient but one time I was drawing a flower I think but got some paint on my shirt so I hid. I was hiding for the longest hour of my life. My teachers called out “Pablo, where are you?” But all I can do was make my mouth shut. I don’t remember this like crystal clear but I think the cops came and at the end of the day I confessed my “crime.” “Please don’t tell my parents, I’m a good kid.” (I was on the verge of tears) My teacher said “It’s okay if you paint on your shirt, but don’t ever do that again.” “Ok.” I said. And I never did that again.
