Analyzing A Song

My favorite song right now is “La Vida es un Carnaval.” The “moral” of the song is to enjoy life no matter what might bring you down. I really enjoy listening to it, it makes me smile whenever I do. It tells you how you shouldn’t live your life in sorrow and to enjoy it and to sing. The first lines are really meaningful as to what you might think is unfair and to get over it and to enjoy the earth we live in. Which translates to "Anyone who thinks that life is always cruel, has to know that it is not like that, that there are only bad moments, and everything happens! Anyone who thinks that this will never change, has to know that it is not like that, that bad weather is good, and everything changes! " I don’t bother on trying to change the size of that.

Analyzing A Poem

I found this poem about life. “Life is, a series of events strung together like a phrase of a sentence forever changing and forever adapting. Turn the page and read on.” I really like it because it’s meaningful. I think it means like if something sad happens just move on and get the beautiful things in life. Like birth, seasons, and family and friends. Maybe somebody is trying to fit in but they don’t like doing it so they break out of their shell and show the real them. I remember when I was incredibly shy but I grew to know people and feel comfortable around them.

Favorite Poem

This is my favorite poem. All nature has a feeling: woods, fields, brooks
Are life eternal: and in silence they
Speak happiness beyond the reach of books;
There's nothing mortal in them; their decay
Is the green life of change; to pass away
And come again in blooms revivified.
Its birth was heaven, eternal it its stay,
And with the sun and moon shall still abide
Beneath their day and night and heaven wide.

I like this poem because of how imaginative it is. Like you can see all of it in your mind. And I like the beautiful outdoors. It talks about life and death and how things come back.

Chicago History Project

So my first topic was the Chicago Fire but I decided to switch it to H.H. Holmes. Anyways he was obsessed with death at a young age. He took care of a pharmacy. He then built a hotel across the street. He killed his coworker Ben Pitezel. He killed them with various different ways like trapdoors that throw them to the basement, soundproof rooms, and a maze of hallways. He was estimated to have killed between 20-200 people. He was caught and hanged in May 8th 1896.

4th Quarter Goals

Ok so for Science I want to at least understand the process of certain things like chemical to heat and how things function. For Social Studies I want to learn more about geography which will probably help me in seventh grade if I get the Global Studies teacher Mrs. Guel. For math I want to reach my MAP goal which is 230 which is high school level and will greatly improve my academic level in math. For ELA I want to make projects that stand out but are good enough to maybe get a 4. For Gym I want to participate more and to push myself above my limits. For Art I want to make a masterpiece when drawing/painting since I think I’m pretty good at drawing geography. To achieve all these goals I’m going to have to pay attention, make more friends,  participate more, and believe in myself.

Spring Break

Spring break wasn’t that much fun other than a few key things. When I won the raffle for the first week I decided to make it my dream journal so I can have better chances to have a lucid dream and so I can’t share them with my friends. I was writing in that every single time a had a dream. They were all weird, one of them was with my dog Snow who had hands. Anyways I went to the store to buy a few things. My dad bought four trees. Three of them were peach trees while the other tree was an apple tree. It took a while to plant them but my dad also bought fertilizer for the trees but what was gross was that my dogs kept trying to eat it. My mom and I went to Popeyes to buy some chicken and ordering was a real struggle because I couldn’t understand what she was saying and I think she couldn’t understand me either. Once we got our chicken (over 60$) we left and didn’t know how to get back home because we were in a town called Peoria. We didn’t know what to do other than use Google Maps and when she handed me the phone I didn’t know where to look. She asked “D you understand?” I said “Yes.” I didn’t understand, in fact as soon as she gave me her phone I got lost and was looking in the wrong direction which is the reason we got lost. Once we made it back home we made s’mores.
